Five spice is a familiar seasoning in many Chinese and Taiwanese dishes. It is made of five different spices: fennel, star anise, Sichuan pepper, cloves, and cinnamon. While most handcrafted spices outside of Asia use a substitute for the Sichuan pepper, our blend strives for authenticity and sources this fiery, delectable pepper as one of the ingredients. This spice can be used in stews, as a marinade or rub, as seasoning for grains, and even mixed into breadcrumbs before breading and frying.
